Dear Friends,
Thank you for visiting our website and learning more about our Amazing Asa Adams School! My name is Kristin Briggs and I am so proud to be the principal of this learning community! During this, my first year here, I will be devoting much of my learning to our students, families, and staff. We will continue to embrace the Habits of Mind, so that we can all be the best versions of ourselves.
While this year may look a little different than past years, for many reasons, it’s also the beginning of some amazing things!! In July 2020, an exciting construction plan went into effect! The front part of Asa has now been removed in order for the next phase of construction- a new entrance, new offices, and new classrooms! There has also been work on the back part of the school to make way for a new cafeteria and kitchen to better serve our students. To say it has been a busy summer for Asa would be an understatement!
Of course, the Covid-19 virus has also had a significant impact on many of the protocols and procedures at Asa. A very devoted team of staff members has worked hard all summer to ensure the best possible use of our building and scheduling, while balancing the safety and health of our students and staff. We have had to reconfigure student arrival in the morning, as well as departure in the afternoon. We have also tackled classroom design and numbers of students in order to comply with six feet of social distancing. We have done all of this while keeping in mind the most important thing- to let our students know how much we care!
While this can be an uncertain and sometimes scary time, keeping a positive attitude and growth mindset will be paramount in creating a successful year. Thank you so much for all of your support! If you have any questions or thoughts you’d like to share with me, you can always reach me at kbriggs@rsu26.org.
Stay safe and healthy! We’ve Got This!!
Sincerely,
Kristin Briggs
